She moved to London, where she lived with relatives after the war. In 1948, Erika left for England, and in 1949, she emigrated to Canada. Her uncle, who had moved to London, became the Rosh Yeshivah in Montreal. Erika lived in Montreal until 1954, when she got married and moved to New York.
Her husband was also a sole survivor of his family and was ten years older than her. He had endured time in concentration camps during the war.
