After the war, Miriam’s parents walked from Poland to Germany, eventually reaching a displaced persons camp in Berlin. Her mother was eager to leave the camp, and with the help of the Joint organization, the family emigrated to the United States when Miriam was three years old.

Miriam attended the Manhattan Day School as a child. When she was nine, her family moved to Los Angeles, where she attended the LA Jewish Academy and later Rambam, which is now called YULA. Miriam became a preschool teacher and eventually opened her own preschool on a campus owned by the Orthodox Persian community.
Almost two years ago, Miriam moved to New Jersey, where she currently resides.
