Anne Himmelstein

Anne Himmelstein was born in November 1926 in Frankfurt, Germany. At 97 years old, she has lived through some of the most tumultuous events of the 20th century.

During the rise of Nazi Germany, Anne's father, who was a veteran of World War I, was able to get out of a concentration camp due to his service in the war. However, this stroke of luck did not extend to the rest of the family.
